LHBA Legislative Day and Crawfish Boil

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

• 12:00 p.m. – Approximate Bus Departure Time from Koop Dr. in Mandeville
• Lunch will be provided on the bus
• 1:00 p.m. – Arrival at the Hilton Capitol Center in Baton Rouge
• 1:30 p.m. – Updated in the Riverview Ballroom on the topics of importance to our industry by LHBA Leadership.
• 2:30 p.m. – Rally for Homewonership on the steps of the Capitol.  After the Rally, we go into the Capitol to talk with our legislators. 
• While inside the Capitol you will receive a wristband for your $10 entrance into the crawfish boil. 
• 4:00 p.m. – The bus leaves the Capitol to return to the Hilton
• 5:30 p.m. – LHBA Crawfish Boil for lots of Food, Drinks, and Music!-be sure to get your wristband at the Capitol so you only pay $10 for admission.  Those not at the Capitol will pay $30 for entry.  
• 9:00 p.m. – Approximate Departure time from Baton Rouge.

On Tuesday, May 7th, HBA members from across the state will converge on the Capitol to meet with legislators and lobby for bills deemed important to the home building industry.  It is at this meeting that we all show up in red shirts to showcase our numbers and unity. For this reason, HBA is chartering a bus to make the round trip from Mandeville to Baton Rouge.  The Bus Trip to Baton Rouge is only $10 for the Crawfish Boil!

There will be a “Rally for Homeownership” on the steps of the Capitol at 2:30pm where members of the Senate and House will address the group.   Members will then proceed in the Capitol to lobby our legislative agenda with their Legislators.

At 5:30pm we will celebrate our accomplishments with a Crawfish Boil at the Baton Rouge Capital Center Hilton. All legislators are invited, and this venue provides a relaxed environment for you to visit with the legislators of your choice.

Members who are unable to attend the briefing, rally and lobbying may attend the crawfish boil by contributing $30 to NAHB BUILD PAC or LHBA PAC.

There’s a limited number that can ride the bus so reserve your spot today! And, SPREAD THE WORD- it’s very important AND it’s lots of fun!
